Hi hopefully, I just started the prozac last saturday. I took the 2nd pill today. It is once a week prozac. This is my 3rd time to take it. I probibly wont feel the effects for another 2 weeks. I am on day 3 of my period. I went to a british tea room with my sister and had hot tea. I got a hot flash and a power/adrenalien surge. It was so scary. I came home and cried. My husband is very supportive but doesnt really understand. My heart was pounding. It was such a strange experince.
I didn't know that Prozac had a once a week pill...or maybe I just forgot which is quite possible nowadays :). Has your dr. called in the script for the bcp? Which brand are you trying?

I'm familiar with hot flashes, but can you explain the power/adrenalin surge? I this like jitters or the sudden surge of anxiety (these I know about)?

Sounds like you have a sweet hubbie, which really makes things alot easier during this transition period in our lives.
My obgyn gave me once a week prozac when all this started at age 41. He just thought it would be nice not to take a pill everyday. the adrenalien surge that I had might be a hot flash, but it felt weird. I had a sudden worse brain fog then all of a sudden the surge swept over me. I felt it go down my arms mainly. Then my heart raced and it was over, except for the freaking out. I just passes rather quickly.I really felt like I was going to die. God had promised me psalm 118:17," I shall not die but live and declair the works of the Lord" I try to remember that promise. Oh yea, we went by heb to see if the perscripsion(sp?) was filled and it wasnt. So maybe he was out of the office yesterday. I don t think he sees patients of Friday. I will let you know what BCP he puts me on. Does the BCP interfear with your blood pressure in anyway? My Mom called me this week and she is the one to finally encourage me to make the call on the BCP. She was on them in her 40's. She also started having BP problems at 41. I am like you, my bp went up at peri also. Also those terrible hot flashes/surges I get, have not been around for months. They go away for months at a time. This month my anxiety and depression has been high and I have gotten them. I have been trapped inside this house with my going on 5 yr old son. I am looking forward to the warmer weather.

When I first read that you went to HEB to get your prescription I had to think for a second, then I remembered that grocery store chain when I visited Houston. I don't have HEB here just Albertsons, Tom Thumb, and Kroger. I like Tom Thumb pharmacy because they are 24/7. I found that out when my daughter was sick one Christmas Eve and we could not find anywhere to get her prescription filled. Thank God for the 24/7 pharmacies!

Thank You Lord for Psalms 118:17.
