Thyroid Disorders board

I've posted all over these boards and I'm really hoping that someone can help me becaue I'm miserable!

I have low BP, usually 90/60, but during flare-ups (of extreme fatigue and leg pain) it goes down to 70/40 ish. My body temp is 96 on average. Other symptoms:

hair falling out
no libido
extreme fatigue
cold all the time
salt craving
water craving
horrible cramping in back and legs
dizzy
shaking
nausea and vomiting
fogginess (like I'm watching my life on a movie screen)
forgetfulness
irritable BIG TIME
abdominal pain
gallbladder spasms
hypoglycemia
weight loss

I've been run through the mill with doctors and quite frankly, I'm fed up with the merry-go-round. I have endometriosis and had a hysterectomy at 29. (also had adenomyosis) I have reactive arthritis, and when I have a flare, the only thing that helps is prednisone. I also have GERD. I've had my thyroid tested three times in the past 10 years and it was fine. Also was tested for MS, Lupus, RA, & Sjogren's, all neg. Thyroid disorders, Celiac, MS and Lupus run in my family.

I read that the TSH wasn't the only test needed for thyroid disorders. I went to a new gastro doc today because my gallbladder is killing me. I told him I would like to have my thyroid checked and he agreed. He checked off the TSH test and I asked to have the T3 and T4, but he refused, saying that the TSH is very sensitive and would pick up even the slightest thyroid problem. I asked about my adrenals, but he just blew me off. What in the world can I do? Why are all the doctors so clueless??? I'm miserable and I've been to the ER before during a flare....but they act like I'm a hypochondriac and try to prescribe me prozac. Don't you just love it when you are in pain and they ask you how life is at home? I've had so many surgeries and tests run that no one will insure me now...and I still have no answers.

This past Sat. I was so sick that I wanted to go to the ER, but I just knew that they would treat me the same as before. I was throwing up, my BP was 76/46, had horrible abdominal pain, and I could barely lift my head off the floor. O felt like I was doomed to let whatever is happening just happen. I'm just about to the point of throwing in the towel and writing an "I told you there was something wrong!" letter so that if I pass out on the floor and die, they will know I tried everything I could. :(

Sounds like to me you need another dr...All your symptoms point to adrenal failure... Is there any way can get your cortisol levels checked out? Aso have you tried posting on the addison board?
