You might ask if lexapro would possibly help with that side effect. Celexa and lexapro are pretty much the same thing, lexapro is just a more refined version of it and my doc told me that it tends to have fewer side effects. I haven't had any problems on lexapro, although I didn't have any problems on prozac, paxil, or wellbutrin, either...

But there are a lot of choices, so if it's getting worse and not better it sounds like it might be time ot try something else.
Hi Sera, Celexa and other SSRIs all have stomach related side effects. Have you seen them? I just did a search on "Celexa gastro side effects" and clicked on the first item. It doesn't have the product insert information which includes all of the side effects, but there is a list of those medications that interract with it and there are 4 or 5 stomach medications listed. I don't see the drug that you're on, but they may not have listed all of them as it says, "stomach medications such as..", as though there could be others in the same class, for instance.

Do you happen to be on any other medications? Drugs for osteoperosis, for instance, can cause severe heartburn.

All of the SSRIs, Prozac, Paxil, Luvox, Zoloft and Lexapro all have nearly identical side effects profiles, so switching medications may not help you. Everyone is different and if you're one of those who is affected in this way, you, most likely, will have trouble with all of them.
I had lower GI problems for 18 months while on Lexapro - I had to stop. I have been taking Prozac now and haven't had one problem with my GI tract (but it also isn't working on my depression).
