Hormone Problems board

Funny! I have been trying to figure out a solution for over a year now! For a natural route, there's evening primrose oil. I think it does help a little. But not enough for my symptoms. I'm currently taking Sarafem (prozac, but marketed for PMDD). Alot of women take it 15 on, 15 off. I haven't tried it long enough to make a conclusion about it's effectiveness. I also take klonopin, for the times when anger is a problem and I have anxious feelings (right before I start). It helps to calm you down. But it doesn't help with the fatigue and feelings of OVERWHELMEDness!! that's my biggest complaint. No energy, no drive no nothing!! I feel like the whole world is caving in on me.
I'm looking into other options now. I've even considered taking stuff to stop ovulation, but that is such a drastic measure. I tried Birth control pills, but that made it worse!!! Alot of women respond well to SSRI's, but the only one that worked for me was Paxil. I've been off of it for a year, and my new doctor would probably shriek if I suggested that. I've also tried Buspar and Lexapro.Buspar works well, but you have to give it a chance...you don't feel any immediate effects, which is good. You just feel somewhat better....and that's much safer than klonopin (addictiveness). And though I hate to admit it, exercise is the best thing! I just don't have time right now to have an excercise regimen, but when I did, I really could tell a difference....everyday.
