Discussions that mention prozac

Thyroid Disorders board

I will probably be posting alot on here b/c of my new test results and determination to be treated this time and not blown off.

When I read all the stories on here it seems doctors are so hesitant to run certain tests - or treat if you are borderline - or even let people try medications to see if they help.

But, everybody seems to be getting rounds of anti-depressants? (which was my docs advice to up my Prozac). Why do docs seem to want to hand anti-depressants out like candy but hold back on drugs to treat thyroid disorders. Or don't even want to run more tests.

is it because there is no blood test with levels to indicate what is the normal and what is depressed range?
