Cancer: Bladder board

Sorry you're feeling so lousy. I know from experience how frustrating it can be when you're trying to fall asleep and you have to keep getting up to "go".

You should have a urine culture done to see if you have an infection. If not, I would see a urologist. By the way, if you DON'T have an infection, pass on the cranberry juice -- it can irritate the lining of your bladder. There is a condition called interstitial cystitis that can cause some of the symptoms you've mentioned. If that is the case, bladder retraining can be helpful, but it takes a while to notice any difference. There are other conditions that can cause the symptoms you are experiencing as well. It might give you some peace of mind to go straight to a urologist so as not to drag it out any longer.

As for OTC medications, you can look for Pyridium and Uristat, but be advised that they simply make you feel better -- they do not get rid of the underlying cause.

Good luck and keep us posted....
