Salty,

I have used both Ambien and Lunesta. Ambien was the better of the two in the beginning but over a period of time, I developed a tolerance for it. My sleep dropped to about two hours so I had to quit taking it.

I take Lunesta at the 3 Mg dosage and am developing a tolerance much faster than when I took the Ambien. Perhaps the quick tolerance is due to the Ambien tolerance. In any event, Lunesta keeps me asleep for three to four hours and I cannot get back to sleep. I also experience grogginess for much of the next day.

Too be fair, I also take Requip for RLS and the combination of the two drugs may be causing the excess sleepiness the following day. However, it does not explain the quick tolerance that I developed for Lunesta and I am not going to exceed the maximum dosage.
Gemarti, I've done the Ambien thing and I can't stay asleep on it. I'm afraid I will build up a tolerance to Lunesta as well, but I am going to see if my dr. will let me try it.

I'm running out of sleep aid options.

Thanks for posting,

Salty
