Discussions that mention skelaxin

Pain Management board

Because it is a controlled substance, and it's for the same condition your PM doc is treating you for, you need to run every med by your PM doc. It will certainly interact with the meds he prescribes, not that they can't be used safely. Soma breaks down into an old sedative called Milltown which was widely abused in the 70's, so it has a stigma atached to it too. Some docs are appsosed because of the abuse potential and the demand on the street. Even meds like skelaxin or zanaflex that have no abuse potential should be run by the PM doc if it's related to chronic pain.

It would get me discharged if it wasn't a weekend emergency with a small supply untill my PM could see me.
Do you have any reason to think your PM won't treat spasm, what is he suggesting?
Good luck, Dave
