High & Low Blood Pressure board

Hi, :)

My BP meds are (at the moment) Ramipril 20mg, Felodipine 5mg, Hctz 25mg,Spironolactone 25mg, and Bisoprolol 5mg. Plus a few others for other stuff. If the beta blocker is increased, something has to be decreased. Ramipril and Felodipine cannot be decreased or eliminated. The Spironolactone has to stay, too. So does the beta blocker. That only leaves the Hctz. I wonder if a decrease in my diuretic would result in an increased fluid retension - something I'd rather avoid! I'll have to find out about it for sure before making any such change.
My blood pressure is good, 115-130/65-88. Sometimes it dips too low for comfort. I am trying to get more info on the possible reasons for that. One of the possibilities is the way the left ventricle fills with blood during the diastole when the cardiac output is lower than normal due to various reasons. That sometimes causes the blood pressure to get too low. I am sure there are many other possibilities, such as too much medication, for instance. I don't think that's the problem here.

There are several possibilities for the shortness of breath, including the GERD, of course. Forget the asthma. Very unlikely. A blood clot in the lungs can also cause these breathing problems and can be deadly. I had them elsewhere. Because the doctor called the hospital for a copy of my recent pulmonary function testing right after hearing about it, I know he is not treating this issue lightly. Thank goodness I have him to look out for me now. By the way, I have found a doctor I like. The only problem is that she's going on a maternity leave. I don't know for how long. She treated me twice at the walk-in clinic and I like her a lot. I guess I have to wait until she comes back. I heard she is still taking on patients.
I am so glad you have really good health insurance. So many people don't. You are very lucky indeed. Having good doctors who care about their patients makes all the difference. I am fortunate to have mine. I am NOT referring to my GP. I hope your visit goes well next week and that you'll get some answers.

I'm glad you've got someone you can trust, too. It makes all the difference in the world, and in one's health!

I'm glad you've specified as it has been confusing, sometimes, to know which doctor was which....some sounded like they knew what they were doing, and others didn't. But again, that's life, isn't it?

But again, am so glad that things have leveled off for you and you're getting back to life!!!
