Thanks for the reply. As for my lab results, I actually don't know what they are. When the doctor's office called last week, they didn't give me any numbers, only said that my thyroid was low and the doctor wanted to start me on meds right away. You're probably right on the dosage. I probably read it wrong. I don't have the bottle in front of me right now. They did say the doctor wanted to start me on a low dose so I'm sure you're probably right.
As for my symptoms they seem to be much the same as the others here. I am always tired. It doesn't matter if I sleep for 6 hours or 10 hours, I never feel like I've had enough sleep, my body aches all the time, my hair is falling out, my eyelashes are falling out, my skin is dry, problem with acne (considering my age this shouldn't normally be a problem). The list goes on. I'm sure there are other things that I'm not even aware they are symptoms. The one thing that does seem odd though is that I haven't gained any weight. My weight has always remained the same. I'm 5'4" and average between 110 and 113. My biggest fear now is that I will gain weight. I'm trying to be optomistic. I figure it has gone untreated for who knows how long and I haven't gained weight, so now that it is being treated, I would think it less like that I would gain. Unless of course the Synthroid itself causes weight gain. Does it? As far as eating goes, I've always had pretty good eating habits. I don't eat much junk food at all. I'm not big on sweets and I can't stand fast food, all of which benefits me I'm sure.
For the time being, I guess I will just take it day by day and see how I feel. I don't seem to see any improvment as of yet. In fact, by the middle of the day I feel more tired than before I started the meds. By about 1 or 2pm I am hitting the wall so hard, it seems like a struggle to stay awake (something that is important here at work hehe). Did this happen to you at all?
