Discussions that mention synthroid

Thyroid Disorders board

This is gonna sound weird... but I hope they find that my levels are low.

I posted a thread a days back "Synthroid and C. Pill" about me going on Ortho-Tricyclen BC in March and the wonderful doctors not mentioning that it could lower the effectiveness of Synthroid. I heard that somewhere and the university pharmacist confirmed it.

I have been feeling like sh*t lately... tired all the time, low energy, grumpy, seem to be gaining weight even as I exercise and eat right. So i am getting my levels checked today... and I hope they are low so i can get a upgrade and hopefully this stuff will go away.

I know it could take abit for the symptoms to go away and that i might feel worse at first but I can;t keep feeling this way.

blech.

Divermon,
Yea I have been chronically hypo since birth (no thyroid at all- birth defect I guess) so been on Synthroid for 25 years and been told over and over what to look for to judge if I am high or low. I thought I was just depressed (which i have a tendency for) but I realized it was more than that.

I hope the docs know what they are doing... I am a grad student and under University Health Ins and go to the Health Center. Its cheap (no co-pay if you are on their ins) but i am looking forward to a real job and real insurance and a constant doctor.

:) I am wordy today... sorry.

well... i dunno.
had the test... i noticed right before i gave the lab lady my sheet that he only marked TSH test. But I was late to class already. he said he wasn;t sure that it could be hypo but at the time I was feeling alittl emore awake and good so didn;t explain as well as i should have about my symptoms.

he is really nice though. said to come back the next week and we can talk about results. If they come back normal i will say that I was paying more attention to my symptoms and forgot to say that weight doens't seem to come off .... (we started talking about my weight loss last year and I forgot about the 10-15 pounds I have put back on and won't go away)....

I hate that I never remember to say everything.

:(
