I am a 37 year old overweight female with Hashimoto's Thyroidism. For the past two months I have been retaining a large amount of fluid throughout my entire body (especially upper abdomen, face, hands and feet) and feet). I have been to my doctor two different times and he keeps telling me it is "probably" thyroid related, takes my blood and continues my synthroid. I can't wear my jewelry and most of my clothing. I am usually normal size when I wake up, but as the day progresses the fluid builds up. By the time the evening arrives, I can barely walk because my feet are so swollen and hurt so bad. My skin actually stings. My blood pressure has been elevated as well and the bottom numbers are in the mid-90's. Surely, this isn't all thyroid related. I am getting scared, but my doc isn't alarmed. Am I just overreacting?
