I am on 125 of Synthroid and seems like I'm on nothing at all!
Well, after you get your blood results, you may want to up it based on the FT4 and FT3 and of course how you feel. How long have you been on that? I have read over and over again, give your body 6-8 weeks to make the full adjustment and by then you levels will be leveled out on that amount.and then you can make a more accurate guess as to what to do next. Also I have heard of people on higher doses so it wouldn't be all that strange. As for me, I will not rule our Armour if Synthroid fails...and it better kick in soon!
I had the same problem until I began to take selenium on a regular basis. Now my doctor has REDUCED my synthroid twice. I started at 175mcg back in the early 90's, and now I'm down to 125mcg. Selenium was a freakin' miracle for me. I also cut out all starches, pasta, bread, potatoes, and I eat only live foods, vegy's , fruits, some dairy and some meats. I feel wonderful, my hair has stopped falling out, and I am losing weight without even trying and I am never hungry! My TSH normally runs about .32 now, rather than up around 5.5 or more. All my free's are fine now too.

I have been on synthroid for about 1 1/2 yrs , started out at 100 and was upped to 125 a bit over 3 months ago and still feel just as bad as I did then.
I wanted to post my experience with taking selenium. I found out about it fromt this wonderful board! I was diagnosed with hashi's last year through a biopsy of a very large nodule. I have had terrible symptoms for years but my blood work is always in the normal range ( by our numbers here.) The only thing that was off was my antibody levels. I started on the selenium instead of synthroid. The selenium wiped out most of my antibodies and I felt so much better. I had decided not to try synthroid to shrink the nodules because I know so many folks who have done that and ended up with more nodules or bigger problems. I am awaiting my 6 month lab results right now to see where to go from here. Give the selenium a try, it cannot hurt!
