Discussions that mention synthroid

When you have an underactive thyroid is your heartbeat always slower than normal???. My TSH tested 22 on my last endo visit. My heartrate averages around 84 at home and due to anxiety (at least I think so)..its averages about 90--110 in the doctor;'s office.

The endo makes a huge deal out of the fact that when you have an undercative thyroid your heartrate should be much slower than that , in fact the heartbeat should be "much slower than normal" when you have an underactive thyroid so he tells me. For this reason he has not prescribed synthroid yet after SEVERAL doctor visits and is threatening to put me on a holter heart monitor on my next visit if my heart rate isnt in a lower range!

I really would like to hear others experiences ...is your heartrate slower when underactive thyroid????
