Discussions that mention thyroxine

Brain & Nervous System Disorders board

Hi KJ29,

Yes, from what Ive read Chiari malformation does cause many symptoms especially fatigue and dizziness. Every time I put my symptoms into search this seems to come up. You certainly need to see a neurologist. I have been having these probs for 6 years now - unfortunatly in the UK I dont think they know much about this disorder and I cant get to have an MRI, because I had one 4 years ago! Unfortunately I think that surgery is the only thing for chiari.

What is your dizziness like? does it seem to be neck related at all? I have also been down the thyroid route and although I wasnt clinically hypo I was treated with thyroxine for the symptoms but it didnt help me at all,

I would be interested to know how you go on - I understand how dreadfully frustrating it is.
