Back Problems board

I was on the Pain Management board and talking with another girl there HikingFan. We have both had a lymph node removed from behind our ears...and afterwards and ever since, we have both had horrible, painful muscle spasms in the muscle next to the shoulder blade. Are the nerves in these two places associated? Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? We both experienced knife-like twisting stabbing burning pain next to one of our shoulder blades. I have pain in the opposite shoulder blade as the ear that was operated on. Just wondering if anyone had information regarding this... Is this muscle spasms or a nerve issue? I don't understand how this can be associated, but it almost has to be due to the fact that HikingFan and I *BOTH* have had the same issue going on since our lymph node removal from behind our ears with pain in the same areas... And this pain is very very very bad. Without meds, a lot of times I'm at an 8 just from the shoulder pain.

Thanks for any information that can help... :)
