High & Low Blood Pressure board

[QUOTE=Edelweiss;3641111]I've been on Lisinopril for years with no noticeable side effects. However, most recently, I've been able to cut my dose to 1/4 of what it use to be. I still don't understand why! Maybe I was overmedicated for years.

That seems to be the mystery with all these meds. One person does fine on a medication, the next one doesn't. I took Toprol XL for 7 years and loved it, but I started allergy shots, and had to give up the Beta Blocker.
I don't feel quite as tired today as I did earlier in the week, but I'm still fatigued. I don't have bad hypertension, but my diastolic runs in the 90s. Since starting this med, my bp has been around 115/72 (I am very happy with those numbers). I've had a cough at times, but not too bad. I had no idea the cough could happen after several months - that is not good to hear.

I have a lot of bad sinus headaches, so if I have to stop this medication, I'm going to try Verapamil (calcium channel blocker). Maybe I can kill two birds with one stone.

I used to take Toprol XL, and loved it. I never had any problems with the selective betablocker (and I have asthma to boot). I changed medications, however, because I started allergy shots.
