HIV/AIDS Living With board

I was diagnosed 2 years ago, labs were ok, 490 to 290 cd4, 30k to 60k vl for 1.5 years, co infected with Hep-b. Hep b vir load was 1.1 billion 3 months ago, so dr started me on meds, truvada/sustiva. No side effects. got my labs back a few days ago after 2.5 months on meds, my vl is undetectable for hiv and hep b went down to 50k, cd4 is now 740!! I am very happy about these results. wondering how other people have been doing with recent or long term hiv diag. Meds or no meds? I also have some joint pain, I have percocet for it, I try not to take the pain meds because I don't like getting addicted to the drugs, sometimes it is easy to let hiv become an excuse for my drug addicion. Also I have been trying to stay off meth.
Dear Seymour: We're here for you! I've been positive for 12 yrs although I don't know when I contract the disease. For the most part, I have remained symptom free with a current t-cell count of 217 (it was 200 when diagnosed) and a viral loard that has always remained undetectible. I am currently taking Truvada, Reyataz, and Norvir (all once a day). Is it possible for you to do something else about the pain? I know I've used acupuncture for lower back pain and head aches with good success.

But here's what worries me: the meth. Having never tried it, I can't even begin to speak about it other than what I've read and I know that you are trying so very hard to be free of it. PLease keep us posted here. We are here with you adn for you. You are miraculous and we want you here for a really long time. Because you have a special insight to this disease that no one else does and you are desperately needed to share that experience with other posters. Okey Dokey? chris
