I wanted to give an update on my recovery. I had my 2 week post op check up on tuesday, and everything looks good. The doctor said everything looks to be in the right pace and healing good. I had a chance to ask him some questions and I thought I would pass them along to you. I asked about skiing this year around Christmass time and he said as long as everything heals up then no problem. The same with golf. I have had numbness under my chin and around the incision area ( feels really weird when I shave ) the doctor said the feeling might come back and it might not. He said I can drive at my own risk. He still wants me to wear the cevical collar for 4 more weeks so this will impair my ability to see the blind spot while driving. I haven't tried to drive yet, but I might try a short trip to the corner store and see how it goes. Still no lifting more than 10 lbs. I am walking 1 1/2 to 2 miles a day for exercise I might need to step that up because I am feeling weak. The doc said I can walk as much as I can handle. That about all to report from the 2 week check up. I feel great. Some numbness in my right arm from time to time, nothing like before surgery, and it seems worse if I play on the computer too long. No pain!!!! I sleep all night!!!! No more drugs!!!! The only pain killer I have taken in 2 weeks is Tylenol. Life is looking good again for the first time in a long time.
