Discussions that mention tylenol

Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) (CRPS) board

My daughter suffered from RSD for 3 1/2 years. Her case was not the typical RSD, so it took over 20 drs in 3 states before we finally found one who could not only diagnose, but cure her. She tried everything you can imagine and dozens and dozens of medications. She tried nerve blocks, accupuncture, meditation, antiseizure meds, antidepressants, anti-inflammatory meds, TENS unit, etc etc etc, the list goes on. Her final treatment was intensive physical therapy (5 hours a day for 3 weeks). It included occupational therapy, psychotherapy, and desensitization of the painful area. Before she started she had to discontinue all of her medications. She is now 95% pain free and doesn't even take tylenol or advil. It has changed her life, and our family's life as well. The dr who treated her was a pediatric rheumatologist at Children's Hosp in Philadelphia. He does not treat adults, but there are drs out there who do. Try researching the term RND (reflex neurovascular dystrophy) as this is a new name for this pain condition. Hope this helps. Jeanine
