Discussions that mention tylenol

Hey everyone. Heard that this site had a wealth of knowledge and it really appears that way. Have a pretty painful problem and was wondering if people have pointers. I've searched and have read what others have said in regards this problem but perhaps some more insight would much greatly appreciated.

This morning I woke up and my tailbone area felt slightly bruised. It's weird because I was completely fine last night and have never had any sort of coccyx bone problems in my life.

As the day progressed, the pain in my coccyx bone increased. Now it's to the point where it's making me yelp. The pain becomes unbearable when I try to get up or stand up from a chair.

I'm curious as to what happened. Should I ice it or take some tylenol? Also, what type of doctor should I go to for this type of problem. :(

Thanks for help everyone.
I have a brusied tailbone. Not sure how I got it but it flares up from time to time. There are muscles that are on the tailbone. When mine become to tight I can't get up from a chair with crying. Sitting is the same. If I don't massage them loose I can stay in pain fro weeks. I have to lay on the bed or floor and massage them for a good while. It's in a weird position so my hands get tired. I have to take breaks.

For me Tylenol or Flexril does not even help. Only massaging it out. It doesn't feel to good when I first massage it but as the day goes on it gets alot better.

If the doctor does not find a cyst massaging it may help.
