The only thing I can think of is that maybe the slight readjustments your doctor made caused something to hit or irritate a nerve. My only intense pain after a double bunionectomy came from irritation of nerves caused by the swelling of "stuff" in my feet.(BTW, it did not happen immediately after the surgery, but a few days later.) It subsided after a couple of days, but my doctor prescribed Vicoden for me to take in the meantime. (I had been using Tylenol 3.) I would not hestiate to use the Darvocet for a short time, then call the doctor if it doesn't get better. Or call him anyway, just for peace of mind if you're worried that something is wrong. Needless to say, continue elevating and icing. It's good to do regardless, but it would be crucial if swelling is a factor in your situation.
