My wife went through this procedure in July 2006. In retrospect the anticipation of the operation was worse than the actual experience. Had her LSH in the morning and was home by 6 PM the same day. Spent the next two days pretty much in bed on Darvocet (only needed one of the two pills she was allowed to take at a time) and then regular Tylenol for the next three to four days. Her first post-op check up was a week later and she was cleared to drive and return to work whenever she felt up to it. She stayed out another week. Here we are a year and half later and she's had not one residual problem and life is good. She did get bad news last week and that was the very wonderful doctor, relatively young in her mid 40's, who performed the operation has had to retire due to health reasons.
