Hi, OH

Yeah, I was/am shocked. And here I am right back at ya!

I know that you are only concerned for my well-being. (there goes the warm [img]http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif[/img] fuzzies I'm always talking about) And, I know exactly what you are saying about the $$$$ aspect of it for them. That has crossed my mind as well  .

I did have an appt with my doc today (not the IDET one, he kind of washed his hands of me after the last discogram) I have the feeling no one wants to deal with me because I ruin their averages. But I did speak with my ortho today and explained the whole thing and he is sceptical at best. Once the discs are dried and torn in his thinking, that's the way they stay.

He doesn't think I injured myself worse with this last episode (I forgot to tell him about the malfunction, though). And, he reiterated - anything to keep me from surgery as then it would be never ending.

His main goal for me right now is for me to be able to handle my pain. Honestly, the last two weeks I haven't been able to do that :( . BUT, I am better.

He wants me to hold on for another 3 -4 years for the prosthetic discs to be available. (And, if the DRX helps me do that, then he says go for it.) Then........ who knows. I got some good meds, though. Valium (sp) and somekind of time released narcotic better than Kadian (The Kadian certainly didn't help). He gave me a coupon to get 10 for $2 for trial.

I won't take them unless I ABSOLUTELY have to. Only if I have another 1 1/2 wks from hell!

Gotta go - thanks again for caring and being a dear friend.
