You have every right to decline sedation, BUT are you just afraid of the unknown? I had IV sedation and it WAS an EXCELLENT experience. The oral surgeon was giving me the injection of liquid valium and I was talking to him and THEN I woke up to a sweet techs voice telling me gently to wake up. After its all done (I had 4 extraction in 35 mins) there is no memory of anything. I wish I could have all my work DONE AT ONE TIME under this. Sure, I was nervous when I went in but I did it and would do it again. Do what makes YOU comfortable.
