Discussions that mention valium

Dental Health board

I'm having an upper left tooth grafted in a week or so. I have had two other procedures (osseous surgery to be specific) on bottom molars which is different, neither were particularly painful and the only thing I had was local anesthetic followed by a period of icing and soft foods after.

I know the grafting procedure is different and I'm not looking forward to it mostly because I hate needles and sitting still, I am going to ask my doctor to prescribe valium or ativan to take in advance to calm my nerves.

I'll let you know how it goes. BTW I'm 29 and started on this periodontic journey 2 years ago (at the same time I found out I needed brain surgery to fix an aneurysm) and the cause was apparently overactive bacteria and brushing too hard...I've come a long way but still have a couple teeth that the perio recommends grafts for--the worst is the one I'm having done this month and we'll see about the others.

Good luck..
