Discussions that mention valium

Spinal Cord Disorders board

An anestesiologist relative advised against the myleogram unless absolutely necessary. The MRI is "easy" - I was going to take valium to stay calm but at the last minute I didn't take it. Good to do it in one day.

I knew the laminectomy is a more difficult recover initially, but with three to four levels, it seemed the better choice for me in the long run. Acutally I surprised myself, I took no pain med after about the 5th day and even then it was one a day when I got home from the hospital (I stayed two nights because I was an hours drive from the hospital). I did have to have my husband help me shower and dress for the first two to three weeks because of the back muscles being cut.
