Dizziness / Vertigo board

Hi Titchou:wave:
I am sorry to hear you are suffering from vertigo, I know first hand how horrible it can be. I myself am a vertigo sufferer as well. I have had vertigo for several years now.. Sometimes spinning but most times motion/swaying on a boat feeling. I just wanted to mention that Valium often helps subside the symptoms. I myself had no benefit from antivert as well. Perhaps you can explain this to your Doctor and they can prescribe you something in the Valium family to help calm things down. I found this to be very helpful when things really get in a spin:dizzy: ... I hope you find this post helpful and wish you lots of luck hopefully you will have a fast recovery! :)
I have recently been diagnosed with inner ear dysfunction and have had severe vertigo.
I suffered with the 24/7 dizziness, fullness in the right ear, balance problems, ect... I went to my doctor 3 times in less than a week.
She first put me on an antibiotic thinking I had an ear infection, did not help of course so I went back, then she put me on antivert, did not help at all, the dizzy/foggy head feeling actually felt worse.
The final time I went back, she ordered a ct scan just to be sure nothing was going on inside my head (stroke, tumor) scan came back negative.
She finally put me on Zyrtec and valium together and although it was not an instant help, I could tell it was doing something because I would have periods where I was not dizzy or foggy and I could actually walk without staggering!!
I have been on the zyrtec/valium therapy for 4 days now and I am back to normal. I am clear headed and walking fine.
I am not saying that this med therapy will help everyone, but it did help me. Maybe you should mention this to your doc and see what they have to say. It could be worth a try!
Hope you find some relief soon. I know what it is like to suffer with this and to think you may have to live with it!!
