Discussions that mention valium

When my casts came off I had the worst spasms imaginable. Have you had issues with spasms after the surgery? If you have and have been perscribed a medication like valium for them I would recommend taking it right before your appointment. They neglected to tell me to do this and I was in so much pain. I was very weak when the casts came off and had trouble standing even though I had been able to stand in my casts and even had been taking steps while the casts were still on. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but getting casts off really is not fun. I had three cast changes and once I knew to take the valium before they got easier to handle. I hope it goes well for you!

Anyone else want to share their experience. I haven't been told about any spasms. The doctor just warned that I may need crutches depending on the level of weakness. What kind of surgery did you have. I should note that I only had short legs casts and wear knee immobilizers on my upper leg when sleeping. So I have been able to walk around and bend my legs/knees.
