Discussions that mention valium

Hi Terise:

I'm no expert on this, but about 20 years ago, I went for a routine PAP and my OB/GYN found what he called a lesion on my cervix. It's called Cervical Dysplasia. Not as scary as it sounds. It consists of some wierd, benign, little cells that form on the cervix. In my case, my doc assured me it was just a matter of removing the lesion and everything would be OK. So we scheduled a laser procedure for a couple of weeks later and I was in and out within about 4 or 5 hours. I didn't even have to be put under, just a local and I think they gave me a Valium so I wouldn't be anxious. They recommended that I take it easy for a day or two and other than some cramping and a little light bleeding, I was back to my old self in a couple of days.

I'm really sorry your doc was so insensetive. I'll never understand how a physician, let alone a female, can be so thoughtless when it comes to her female patients. Hang in there, good luck and I hope your husband realizes he needs to support you more. I'll keep you in my prayers. Please keep us all posted. cmpgirl
