Hello Grandpa,

You mentioned that the nurse came back on and said not today, but did she give you any idea of when?? Or even say if the doc would call you back by a certain time?

I would most definitely call tomorrow and ask to speak directly with the nurse that you usually speak with. The one you spoke with this time doesn't seem to care one way or the other.

I do agree with Ex, that a face to face with the doc is always best when changing a patients med regimine. Also, that it seems to cause fewer tolerance issues when your LA med and your IR med are from 2 different classes. I have taken Oxy for LA and hydrocodone for BT, for a long time and have only had to have minimal adjustments over a 7-8 year period.

In the mean-time, have you ever tried over the counter diaphenhydramine? (Benadryl) for help with sleeping? Or any kind of anti-anxiety med, such as Valium or Xanax? These may help with the sleep deprivation, anyway.

Best of luck and please let us know how it all works out. CMP/MM
