Discussions that mention valium

Xanax as well as valium and klonopin are commonly used to help people with dizziness. Xanax for me didn't touch the acute vertigo, but it did make me calmer about it! Now I have klonopin in case I need help with my chronic dizzy feelings.

Re: the damage...some feel that the damage remains, some feel that it heals to some extent, but either way the brain learns to compensate over time for the problem. This can be helped by physical therapy with a vestibular therapist.

If you did have vestibular neuritis, then yes it is often preceded by an upper respiratory virus/infection...they don't really know what causes it, however. You probably would initially have had acute onset of vertigo with nausea/vomiting lasting several to 10 days.
