I have had 5 surgeries. The first was a left disk replacement and I had my right disk repaired. I then had that disk replaced. None of those surgeries worked and left me in more pain than I was in to begin. I was on every pain medecine possible, darvocet, vicodin, oxycontin and percocet to name a few. I just had bilateral total joint replacements done in november and I feel better than I have in years. Most swelling is gone and I can function better than ever. The disk replacements did not work for me, but I was told that the success rate is usually high. My doc is supposedly one of the best in the country and he said there is a much better chance of success in disk replacements than total joint replacements. If you need it.
