Discussions that mention vicodin

Yes, I had my surgery about 24 hours ago. It's only painful now when I swallow, so I'm trying not to do that as much as possible. I'm taking two vicodin every three hours, but it doesn't seem to do much or even make me sleepy. I finally ate some jello, I crushed up ice in a blender and ate it at the same time to ease the pain a bit. But the pain when swallowing can be incredible. Hopefully this is worth it, the doc told my wife there was all sorts of stuff collecting in all the holes of my tonsils and this should take care of the bad breath (although I'm not as sure of it as he is).
-godisgood, how is your treatment going?

Brandon, how are you doing now? They say the pain gets worse by day 3. do you think it was worth it yet? Does the Vicodin make you feel sick? Have you eaten anything of substance yet? I hope this solves your BB problem. That's why I want mine out. I don't want to be a grandmother and my grandchildren won't kiss me because I my breath. I hate the thought of digging that crap out for the rest of my life. :bouncing:
I'm doing okay, hanging in there. It's thursday afternoon, and I had them out monday morning so I guess this is the third or fourth day. The vicodin doesn't make me sick, but I have had a bit of a rash break out but is a side effect. I still haven't eaten anything of substance, only broth and jello and ice. (Although I just sent my wife to KFC for some mashed potatoes). I haven't been able to get much rest, the pain killers don't make me sleepy and usually by the third or fouth hour the pain flares up and you're awake. But the pain isn't so bad, just a dull ache and pain when I swallow. I was able to open my mouth some and looked back there with a flashlight, pretty scary. And my breath is just horrible right now, probably because all the scabs and my tongue is super white coated maybe from the antibiotics. I take 3 antibiotics a day, then I take two vicodin every 3-4 hours. So I'm kinda in a daze but not enough to be sleepy but then again enough to not really be in pain. I have a follow up on Tuesday. We'll see what happens in the long run. I did notice my nostrils seem clearer now, I used to always have a clogged nostril but since the surgery it seems easier to breathe through my nose, which is a plus.
Hi all. I'm at day 11 or so of the tonsillectomy recovery, and feeling fine. It wasn't as bad as I expected, just the first few days were a pain to swallow but other than that it wasn't so bad. I took two vicodin every three hours around the clock for 5 straight days, so that made things bearable (not to mention a serious buzz). Already went to post op appointment, everything is healing fine. I still have some scabs but should go away in a few days more.
So, has this helped the BB? Well, I really can't tell yet. I do know that I don't have the awful taste in my mouth that I had before. My tonsils were very cryptic and had a bunch of crap in them (and the doc even told me that when he removed them it was like squeezing a tube of toothpaste with white stuff coming out of them). My coating on my tongue seems to be clearing up some. But I'm not really sure this was the whole cause of my bb, but I'm sure it contributed to it. As soon as I'm all healed I'll let you all know the results, but I'm still kinda worried that this didn't completely cure my case.

Godisgood, thanks for the kind words of hope. Keep us posted of when you do the lemon flush again, I am seriously considering it sometime this year. As far as removing your tonsils, I don't think it could hurt (and may even help a great deal). Have you seen an ENT yet? I know my regular doc didn't think anything was wrong with mine, but when I saw the ENT he showed my all the caves in my tonsils and even the hard tonsil stones that were forming. So in my case I'm sure it helped.

Thejesus, I saw your post about the breath clinic visit. I'd like to hear more. What do you think about the whole thing, it seems they told you nothing is wrong?

Also hello to Louise, I wish you well and hope all is going good for you.

I think I'll try some of these new suggestions from mar0975 also as soon as I'm healed. I just saw that toothpaste in my supermarket recently. I did use the netipot for a month or two, I didn't notice a difference but I think I'll try that again as soon as I'm ready.
Hi all,
Well, I'm pretty much recovered from the tonsillectomy. But I must say I don't think it helped my bb 100%, not even 50%. It's been 17 days now, about a week ago my tongue was clear and I had no taste in my mouth. But for the past few days I see the coating is coming back on my tongue and the bad taste is back in my mouth. Neither are quite as bad as before, but still there. And I was hoping the tonsillectomy would help with my eustachian tubes (mine seem to always clog and I always have to open my jaw to clear my ears) but this is still the same also. And for a long time after the surgery my sinuses seemed so clear it was amazing, but lately it seems one nostril is always clogged again. The only good thing is I have no more cryptic tonsils, and no more tonsil stones. And that was the longest 'vacation' I've had in 10 years, although it was painful at times it sure was nice to somewhat relax for two weeks (not to mention buzzing on vicodin, I can see how people get hooked on the stuff!).
So, I guess I'm back to the beginning once again. Pretty depressing but I'm ready to try something else to cure myself. I'm not quite 100% recovered yet but yesterday I started back on my supplements (adding acidophilus this time) and I started the nasal irrigation again last night (adding the hydrogen peroxide this time along with the rock salt). I also dug out my cybersonic toothbrush I purchased a while back and have been using the tongue scraper attachment. Maybe it's just me though because it doesn't seem to work all that well on my coated tongue, but I'll keep trying for a few days. Thanks for all the new tips, I'll put them to good use. I also am trying to chew my food better which I've always had a problem with. And back to drinking green tea.
I still think I need to do the lemonade fast next, I do have some problems digesting alot of foods and get diarrhea easily. The only thing that seems to help my digestion is when I eat avocados, which I just started again because since I started eating solid foods again a week ago I've been having these digestive problems bad. I think I may go to my primary care doc sometime soon and get my digestion system checked out next.
good luck all, and keep posting!
Here you go David!!!! I knew you would find it. It is the best on the market right now. When I bought that for the first time...one year ago or so, no many knew about it. I discontinued on that time, because I thought it just did not work. But one day I was in a natural food store and his book was being given for free, I read it. I saw that I needed to take more pills. I gave my book to somebody with digestive problems, and I am still waiting for it... In the book he recommends high dosis for a while (3 months or more) and then to reduce the dose to 6 per day or so. It helped the bb, but not the pnd. I want both out of my life.

Brandon, happy to hear from you. Thank you for keeping us informed. I did not tell you before, but since you posted about the avocado I started to eat it, and I love guacamoles now. Thanks for the tip. :) I had to laugh when you mentioned about the vicodin. I did not know it was so strong...

Bye everybody
mar0975 - do you have any info on the netipot stretching exercises? I didn't buy the real netipot just a copy and I didn't get the stretching info with it. Know of any sites that have this info posted? I'm still using my netipot daily, with the salt and hydrogen peroxide. I used to use a few drops of gse in the mixture but it didn't seem to do much for me. Even now, I've been doing it for about two weeks again and right after I do it my sinuses feel wonderful and in about a half hour they are clogged again. Just like my tongue, I can scrape- brush -and sonic care my tongue clean and within ten minutes it's coated again.

polatli - If I had to rate the positive effects for the tonsillectomy from 1 - 10 (one lowest, ten best) I would have to give it a 4. The good thing is I don't really have that nasty taste constantly in my mouth, it still is there sometimes but not the same and not as bad. And my tongue is about 30% better as far as the coating is concerned. It wasn't anywhere near as effective as I had hoped it would be, but any little bit helps. Plus all that stuff gathering back there couldn't have been beneficial for anything. The other pluses were that I haven't been off for two weeks from work in about ten years, and the vicodin was wonderful :)
Hello Ranger and welcome to our hell...no really, welcome.

If you did read all the posts you'll see I was one of the hopefuls that had a tonsilectomy this past Jan. Very cryptic tonsils and tonsil stones, so I had them out. Didn't do squat, but the week of vicodin was great. And time off from work was great too, but didn't help the bb any.

I like your procedure, I will give it a shot. I'm always up for trying anything to get rid of this. I'm currently taking 12 primal defense a day but it doesn't seem to be helping, I'll try it for 90 days.

Interesting reading on candida here lately, I'm looking at a drastic diet change once again sometime soon along these lines.

anyway, good luck and thanks for sharing.
