Discussions that mention vicodin

Addiction & Recovery board

I have been on Vicodin for over a year at 3 a day and have not been able to quit, the wd's I go through even at 3-4 a day are just miserable. Someone suggested to me Suboxone for a few days to help. I think it was Goddessgrl65 who said that she had a friend in a similar situation and took Suboxone for three days and was able to step off of the vikes pretty easy.

Can I get some information on this and would I go to my doctor to obtain Suboxone and what is it?

Thank you all for the help.

Signed.

Hi,
I have been reading your posts and yes you sound deeply frustrated. And yes, compared to others, you are on a small "doze" of the pills. Although pills are not usually my DOC, I did them when I had the chance. You can do a search and read my story thus far in my road to recovery.

I know that AA and NA are not for all. I am still not convinced either. But, I am still not ruling it out. At the moment I am seeing a physotheripyst (sp) to help with the past and another councelor to help with my future. Plus, some AA and private group therapy.

Stopping pills, alcohol -- whatever is -- easy after the WD. The hard part is finding out why we do this to ourselves.
I am doing a lot of soul serching latley and havent been on this bord too much.

Gr8ful? Been LQQking for you on another board. (paragraphs intact?)

I have an appointment this coming week with a sub doctor. I have not taken any vicodin this morning. The nurse I spoke with yesterday said since my dosage is under 25 mg a day she said that they have a 7 day detox with sub that works pretty well for people on low dosages. I am going to keep my dosage as low as possible till then. I just can't go through wd's at work again. I just don't have the patience and energy to do that again. Not going to work and taking time off is just not an option at this time, unless I want to be unemployed.

Thanks for everyone's advice.

W.
