Discussions that mention vicodin

As you are probably aware, dalmane and xanax are benzodiazepines, and Elavil is a tricyclic antidepressant. Quitting the benzodiazepines and drinking all at once is a deadly recipe. I don't know much about the Elavil.

At any rate, you can end up with severe seizures by quitting alcohol and benzodiazepines at the same time, especially if there is an underlying problem that prompted the benzodiazepines in the first place.

I was taking "normal doses" of valium and paxil my anxiety and vicodin for ddd. I was also drinking too much beer. When it all caught up with me, I had one big mess on my hands. I ended up in a rehab (behavioral health) hospital and you do NOT want to go to one of these places. Trust me!! Perhaps you are on the right track by attending AA and dealing with drinking first. If you doctor has better sense than mine, perhaps he (or she) will let you continue with the benzodiazepines until you have successfully quit drinking, and then you can approach them (benzodiazepines). Also, I would suggest you make sure you know exactly what Elavil is and how it fits into the "mix."

As for me, I had severe seizures and later blood poisoning that resulted in kidney dialysis from quitting my drinking, benzodiazepines, paxil, and vicodin. Not a pretty picture, and not one I would wish on anyone else. Best of luck.....
