I am so sorry to hear what you're going thru, and it does seem that your husbands dr does not know the whole story. I have 3 bulging discs in my lower back and nerve damage in my neck. I am 37 years old and my back is also full of arthritis and I've got severe DDD. At this time I am suffering from severe headaches and migranes from the damaged nerves. I was refered to a regular md for pain because the ortho surg. said he could do nothing for me. My dr has prescribed to me, Wellbutrin, Flexeril, celebrex, motrin, vicodin, ultram, and percocet. I was put on the wellbutrin because my dr said people with severe pain get depressed. I had a severe allergic reaction to it that nearly killed me. As for all the other meds I was given specific instructions on how to take them. I was never told to take them at the same time. This could be the case with your husband's dr, and your husband could be not following the dr's orders. It sounds as tho you've been very supportive of your husband, and it's becoming too much for you. Maybe a phone call to the dr could help you---like I said he may not know the whole story. Your husband may need a wake up call. I wish my husband was as supportive as you have been. I think I would feel better myself if I had support from my spouse. My meds aren't working for me, but I do see a pain specialist this week and I am praying things get better. I wish you the best of luck!!!
