I finally got a referral to an orthopedic surgeon. They will call me tomorrow to schedule. I have read that it is hard to diagnose SI joint issues. I hope this is not the case. I was told today that I probably will have an MRI to begin with and that they don't always show the real problem when it comes to the SI. So how do they know if it is? I use ice as often as I can. I use motrin as well as vicodin if needed. I am about to lose my job and need to find a new career. I have been under tons of stress from my work and my whole life has been changed. I want it all over with. Thank you for your replies and I will post as soon as I know something more. Until then I will keep pushing through physical therapy and manipulations of the sacrum. Thanks!!

I have a question, you say you are about to loose your job, why is that? They cannot fire you because of this medical issue that THEY caused. That's a problem and it sounds like you need to find a workman's comp attorney if you haven't gotten one yet. I hope you can get that figured out soon.

It sounds like you're doing the right thing as far as taking care of the injury - if it works and can relieve the pain then keep up with it. Hope that you get better soon!

A good PT can do measurements on your pelvis and legs to see if your SI joint is out of place on one side (causing pain that mimics the pain of a herniated disk). They can then do manual manipulations to put it back in place and then you get to do lots of exercises to strengthen the muscles around it to hold it in place properly. My PT showed me how to do some manipulations myself in case I feel like it's out of place again (I don't really know if it is or not except that my pelvis just feels "not quite right.")

Hello Bncinlove ,
First off sorry about all your pain and problems. The first thing you need to do is talk with an attorney. Yes they can terminate your job. My husband lost his after working for a company for 12 years , his lawyer said they can fire you if you can't return to full duty BUT they still have to pay you w/c plus pay for your injuries . W/C just sent him to one of their doctor's to I guess find him ok , but instead their doctor made him out in worse shape than his surgeon their Dr. said he didn't think he would ever be able to work a medium job, " in his opinion". So like other's said log everything..But get with a lawyer. Good luck with everything.
