Discussions that mention vicodin

Pain Management board

Does anyone know why my NEW doctor would perscribe methadone instead of vicodin when my chronic pain has been well controlled on vicodin for 2 years.
I moved out of state for my job and had to find a new doctor, you said that different doctors have different methods and that is the case here.
I have been off of the vicodin for 6 months and it has been a rough 6 months because for whatever reason nothing seems to work we have tried everything radio frequency lasioning, facet joint injections, epaderal, ultram , meloxicam, lyrica, cymbalta and now methadone, what I dont understand is why my current doctor is so reluctant to go with what worked for almost 2 years ,now that we have tried alot of different methods with no success.

Thanks for responding
