I don't think that would make a difference. My doctor just told me that if I was pregnant, I couldn't get the procedure done. Let me know what you find out. I am also getting the procedure done in the next couple of weeks.

What are your symptoms?

Did you get the Lidocane "test" shots? If so, how long did your relief last?

What are you currently doing/taking to help you get through the day?

What is the plan after you get the RFA done?

My symptoms are constant dull pain (like a 5) and sharp stabbing pain if I lift my son (27 lbs.) or if I lift my legs. Also, sitting/lying in any one position for a long period of time kills me. I wake up at least three times per night.

I did get the Lidocane shots and got about 6 1/2 hours with the first set and 5 hours with the second set. It was wonderful!!!! I was 100% pain free!!!

I am currently going to Physical Therapy (have been since Sept) 3X a week. They are working on building up my core muscles (abs and hamstring). I also get by taking vicoprofen 2 3x daily. It's the only way I can make it through the day.

My plan is to continue with the physical therapy.

It all started from lifting heavy boxes Oct 2003. I have had lots of back issues since I was in my teens but never this long and this bad. Usually physical therapy did the trick! As for not lifting my son. I am a part-time stay at home mom and my son is only 12 months. Makes it hard not to lift him!!! I am taking vicoprofen which is has Ibuprofin in it and not tylennol. My doctor had me on regular vicoden and then 2-3 ibuprofin twice daily. I felt like that was too much and decided that combinning the two would work out better.

Do you take anything for the pain? Are you in physical therapy? How soon will you be able to get the surgery?
