Discussions that mention vioxx

Disabilities board

As far as "reasonable" medical advise? hmm, Vioxx and Celebrex were just a couple of the meds my good doctor gave me. Guess that's why they call it "practicing" medicine.

Wow. You are very right. When something doesn't work you have to keep trying other things. Either try the natural way like vegetables and drink fruit juices. Eventhough some of us are allergic to Fruits or plant food. But these foods all have medicinal values. Where do medicines come from? From plants. So people eat your vegetables and fruits. janni2525
I would think that if you decided not to use meds, for whatever reason if you really explained, like in a letter?to the disability folks your reasons, that they would not look at it quite so much as being non compliant and more of just a good medical decision that was in your best interest.I would also mention the vioxx thing as an example.every medication that we take, has some sort of side effects that come along with it.I would go through and research all of those meds that you denied and really take a good look at the side effects and note in your letter all of the risks you were just not willing to take.I would think that this would go over much better than just stating that 'i refused to take them",you know?I wrote quite a few different quick explanations of just why I did certain things with regard to any treatments I did and did not want to subject myself to.I was finally approved at the beginning of this month,so they must have accepted it as a good explaination.Good luck, marcia
