Osteoporosis board

Age: 21
Weight: 88lbs (underweight) - due to the IBS, but fiber has fixed me
Other: ovarian failure (if that means no periods and low hormones), IBS (under control for now), hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (a rare heart muscle disease), arthritis (sometimes), and I find I'm acidic and sometimes my stomach burns...osteopenia
What have I changed?: Right now, I walk 10 mins. a day 4 days a week, eat fiber, try to eat more fruits and veggies which I lacked, cut back sodas, cut back sugar, eat low carb for the low sugar, drink soy milk (hear contrary info. on this, but it tastes good to me as I cannot drink dairy), and eat bread...

I had a bone density test and was told that I had Osteopenia and that my hip was the worst and possibly neck. I remember a T-Score of -1.83 or something like that, but the worse one I don't remember, but I know it wasn't more than -2, I believe.

I haven't had any fractures as of yet and am afraid of getting fractures. I was told that I should take 75mg once weekly Fosamax, which I've read kills the bone cells. I'm wondering if that is something helpful b/c I don't know. And I'd like to know if anyone is treating this naturally even while on other needed prescriptions?

I'm not on birth control at the moment, like recommended before in order to get the hormones I lack. I got scared and ran away from them b/c the Mircette made me violently ill and greyish in color and I bled a lot. I wonder what it did to my insides? My grandmother has full blown Osteoporosis and when I visit, I see her pain. There is no way that I want to be like that. I just want to get to the truth of the matter on this. Is it a disease or nutritional defiency?

I just don't want to be swallowing a concoction of pills later. I all ready get side affects from the Inderal LA and Warfarin Sodium that I take.

I'm tired of being in confusion and in tears over this. It's true, you never know what you have until you lose it or might lose it. Please, post all that you know and any web links I could visit. Which supplements do you take?
