Anyone familiar with these eye drops?

They were prescribed to me for my newly diagnosed glaucoma. I'm still really freaked out about the diagnosis, especially since I'm only in my mid-40s. But lots of family members have it so the Doc thinks that might have something to do with it.

He initially prescribed Timoptic but after 5 weeks it was doing nothing. So tomorrow I start on Xalatan. I did a net search on it, of course, but wondered if anyone had any personal experience with it.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

the only experience I have with it is using it on my cat :) . he's 15.5 years old and he has increasing pressure in his eye. he takes one drop in his eye every night and hasn't had any problems at all, and it works for him. he's had all sorts of eye issues, but this med really works for him, isn't irritating at all. hope it works for you too.
Burning and watering are potential side effects of Xalatan. Also, Xalatan may cause gradual change in eye color by increasing the amount of brown pigment in the iris.
I've been using Xalatan for a year and a half with no problems or side effects that I know of. My eyes are still the same color. I also use cosopt 2 times a day with no known side effects. The combination has keeping pressure between 13-17.
