Anxiety board

I have been on Xanax and similar drugs but my anxiety is getting worse my doc wanted to put me on anti-dep but I said no due to a previous bad experience with paxil. Now I am getting desperate and wonder what is a good anti-depr for anxiety ( palps, jitters, muscle tension, face ache etc) Thanks.

Before you jump into using another anti-depressant, please read this web site :bouncing:

As for anxiety, have you looked into natural ways of dealing with it? I am just now deciding to read the Ashton Manual to stop taking Xanax. It seems to me that the Xanax set up a trigger in my brain that made me think that I was having anxiety attacks just to get me to take more of it and the doctor were more than happy to give it to me.

Before I took an anti-depressant, which in some cases causes more anxiety, I would seek more answers as to what was making me feel the way that your do. You might just try a muscle relaxer first.

paxil is a SSRI or prozac type so you may be better trying a different type such as effexor
they all work about the same for anxiety, the problem is finding 1 that works for you, xanax reduces the early side effects

I take desipramine. It is an older anti-depressant.

Mild depression is due to your low back pain? Do you see anyone for the back pain? Who said that your depression was due to your low back pain? I'm curious on that as I have suffered a long time with low back pain.
