Discussions that mention xanax

How many of you out there experience insomnia and what meds and at what doses have you found to work the best? I need help!
I've tried too many and still only get two hrs. sleep. Tell me what works for you please. (tried Xanax, Klonopin, Halcion, Ambien, and Lunesta)
Currently I'm weaning off of Zoloft 25mgs. which I've been on for a month. But I've had insomnia for a month. I take 15mg Ambien everynight.
I have a very rapid heart beat , 120 (checked out by cardio and couldn't find anything wrong---gave me Topril)
I am going to go crazy soon with this no sleeping! In fact the cardio said I probalby should see a psychiatrist to discover the underlying cause.

I took Trazadone, which is a different type of antidepressant used mostly for sleeping. It totally knocked me out. The only thing I didn't like about it was it gave me the "munchies" and I gained a little weight, but not much. You might ask your doctor about it.

I switched to Xanax for sleep and it works really well at 1 mg. Doesn't make me gain weight either. I tried Ambien and it worked for awhile, but then didn't seem to work anymore. For me, benzos work the best. It sounds like you might have an overactive thyroid. Did you get it checked? :)
