Anxiety board

I seen Buspar is on the Wal-Mart $4.00 a month prescription list. Considering my Xanax XR costs $235.a month from the same store I’m trying to research the side effects to see if it’s something I could tolerate.
Hi, 4$ that is very cheap, have you considered taking regular xanax a friend takes it and its only about $15/month also i did find that buspar helped me alot. the celexa has helped me with my OCD but not with anxiety, and when I take 40mg I feel so spaced out its unreal, I have heard form many that celexa doesnt really help much with anxiety, sometimes for me it causes even more anxiety, it is a great drug for my ocd though it worked miracles, but i need something for anxiety, i think if i can control that my ocd/depression will be much better, thank you all for your replies.
I am not sure what type of OCD you have so I am just shooting from the hip here. If anxiety is what you want to get rid of then Xanax, Klonopin, or another long term Benzo is your best bet. Also, you can stay on the Celexa if it helps with the OCD.

I have Pure OCD where all I get are the obsessions and no compulsions other than posting to this board all the time. LOL. Anyway, I take only Xanax and it knocked down the anxiety enough that I can handle to OCD with little more than a half hour of meditation in the morning. It has really worked wonders for me.

From what I have read and heard and seen with my mother the Buspar is relatively weak as an anti anxiety drug. It works similar to the SSRI's and usually carries some side effects. It would work good for social anxiety or a mild case of anxiety, but if you are experiencing panic attacks and major anxiety then I would definitely consider a Benzodiazapene. The difficult thing is to find a doctor who knows enough about the stuff to prescribe it to you for a long period of time.

Anyway, hope this helps. I have never tried Celexa. One of the few drugs I haven't had the pleasure of using. LOL. I went years without drugs, but finally decided that I needed to give modern science one more try and it just so happened to work.
