Discussions that mention zantac

Need some opinions... About a week and a half ago, my son was playing in his room when suddenly, he complained of his throat hurting. About 30 minutes later, he started vomiting like crazy. Afterwards, he said he felt better. I wasn't sure what was going on so we did nothing, since he said he felt better. Then the next day, he complained again about the same time - not long after dinner. He didn't vomit again but everyday since he's complained of his throat hurting... I scheduled a Dr appointment for him last week and he seemed to think it might be Acid Reflux - which makes sense I guess considering it usually coincides with dinner or eating. However, he doesn't seem to have the problem at school, or if he does Ive not heard about it from the school nurse or he's not telling her.

His ped said if he develops any new symptoms, to let him know but if it continued after a week to call back in and they'd put him on liquid Zantac. Now the other day he started with headaches, although they seemed mild and honestly could have been related to his stuffy nose - a sinus headache I guess. But he is still experiencing "pain" in his throat and it doesn't seem the Tums are helping much anymore.

What worries me even more is his lethargy lately - he is a, well let's say exhuberant child. REALLY really exhuberant LOL. He is not himself lately... seems tired and just off his game. I don't know if that's a direct result of feeling crappy if it is AR or what.

Given all this, would you take the diagnosis and see what happens with the Zantac or push for something else from the pediatrician?
How has he been doing with the Zantac? Does he have allergies?
