i have been on zoloft for exactly a week...and i know its too soon to tell a difference...but do they seem to make your symptoms worse for the first few weeks and if so..how long does this last..i have panic disorder and depression and sometimes it just feels like i really cant take much more....im currently taking 50 mgs of the zoloft at bedtime and .50 xanax three times a day but sometimes it feels like i wanna jump out of my skin

My experience with Xanax was that it made me worse. It would help initially (the first couple of hours) but then I would get worse than I was before I took it. It was actually increasing my anxiety. My therapist said it has that effect on some people so I stopped taking it.

Hi jgossert- I can certainly relate to the feeling of wanting to jump out of your skin! I'm curious of the pins and needles feelings you're having. Did you have them a little before you went on Zoloft and Zanax? If so, are they worse now? Did you start both these meds at the same time? Sometimes it can be really difficult to figure out side effects, possible interactions, and symptoms that are caused by something else. Good luck. Hope you feel better sonn!

i would have replied sooner..but i ended up really going downhill fast and checked myself into the mental health unit at my local hospital,,stayed for nine days and they upped my zoloft rather quickly..im on 175 mgs now...it has helped...the suicidal ideations are gone and so are the panic attacks..the anxiety is still there and the side effects are slowly going away...still wake up jittery and nervous but the xanax helps for that..so...im hoping this is a new start for me...
