...not because I don't think it works but I can't keep gaining weight on these meds. The doctor told me Effexor should help me lose the weight I lost with Zoloft and I'm still gaining. Not as rapidly as I gained with Zoloft but still. I can't deal with this weight anymore, it's ridiculous.

I put on a TON of weight on Effexor. It's one of the reasons I went off it.

How long were you on it for and how much weight did you gain (if you don't mind my asking)?
When you went off of it was it hard to lose all of the weight?
I'm so anxious to get off of it but at the same time I'm really scared because I'm just hoping that it's done its job while I've been taking it. I gained 27lbs on Zoloft and 7lbs on Effexor and I've only been on it for 3 months.

Two years (second time around on Effexor) and over 40 pounds. I've only been off of it for 31 days, but I did stop gaining weight when I stopped taking it. I still have to find a way to get the weight off. (That's on top of 30 pounds put on through other ADs.)

i was also on effexor and i gained about 10lbs. (made up for the 10lbs i lost while on zoloft.) also, i became extremely suicidal and i couldn't sleep well. i'm weaning off (the withdrawal from it is horrible) and i'm starting lexapro and trazodone in a few days. good luck getting off effexor, let us know what med you try next!
