Discussions that mention zoloft

Depression board

anybody know why it is legal for zoloft and effexor to make such crazy claims, stating that some people never suffer side effects from their medications, i know zoloft states that in their commerical, that "Zoloft MAY cause loss of libido and BLAH BLAH BLAH. ALTHOUGH 90% of people experince on mild dosages, I guarantee that some day they people are gonna get sued and put out of buisness for this bull crap, by the way when i used to take anti deppresents, there is a paper that comes with an effexor tablet box, that states on 225mg that only something like 20 percent have loss of libido... ANYWAYS we already pay high med prices, why this crap.

I'm not angry or anything, infact i haven't taken any meds since june.

Anyways i can bet and hope in at least 10 years that these companys get destroyed by these clainms, just like the philip morris case.

ANYWAYS THEY NEVER POST ALL OF THEIR SIDES ON THEIR WEBSITES TOO!!!
I am on Zoloft and mine came with papers stating all the side effects. The only side effect I gotten was less sex drive, but other then that, it is working for me. It has the same side effects as the other antidepressants do. So they can not get sued beause they do come with papers stating the side effects and all the other important stuff. On the Zoloft websight they do have all the side effects that are stated on the papers.

i can't find them though. only the common ones
I'm on Zoloft too and have been for 8-9 months give or take. I only had side effects for about a month when I first started and then they all went away. My sex drive is fine (i'm female though). The only thing I notice is that my memory is not as sharp/forget things easily, which I hate but it's wayyyyyyy better than having panic attacks, anxiety, etc., like I did before I got on meds.
I did try paxil too for a couple of days and my side effects were HORRIBLE! I can't imagine having to stay on that med. I guess I just got lucky since the zoloft works so well for me. How long will it last? Who knows..............................................................................
Till then,
T. :)
I was on Zoloft, which helped me for awhile. Then, my depression got worse. The MD raised the dose to almost the max. I became a zombie. Then, regular MD referred me to psychiatrist. Under his supervision, I came off Zoloft and went on Effexor XR. Had terrible sweating for awhile. Still am what you would call "hot-natured". I may have sleep apnea. Will go for sleep study this week. Depression is worse right now. I think it is the stress at work coupled by sleeping problems.

Usually they have to provide full prescribing information on their website so look there, but yeah, the underplay the side effects quite a bit....but we are catching on!

Hi, if you do find that you have sleep apnea then don't have any fears about the surgery you can have to get rid of it because I know 2 people who have had this done before due to sleep apnea and you wouldn't believe the difference. They have tons more energy, their voice changed a little but it used to be slightly nasal and now it's very nice. Their attitude is much better in general... I guess because they're getting rest after so long with having sleep troubles. One of the people had it so bad that he would just fall asleep in the middle of doing things at work or home.
Good luck!

Effexor made my sleeping problems 100 times worse.
